Community Involvement
Silicon Forest Electronics supports specific programs as well as many smaller programs as they arise. Our key community involvements are the Vancouver Share House throughout the year, the Salvation Army at Christmas, the Northwest Medical Teams, and Portland Rescue Mission.
The Vancouver Share House is an organization that collects food and clothing. We have several "Share Barrels" positioned in the facility and once per month the collections are picked up by the Share House. These items are then distributed to homeless shelters.
At Christmas each year we adopt 3-4 families through the Salvation Army. The employees shop for these families, wrap the gifts and then deliver the gifts via "Santa Claus". Frank dresses up as St. Nick, along with 15-20 other helpers, and delivers good cheer and good will to these families.
The Northwest Medical Team is a relief organization who provides medical and dental care to countries where care is nonexistent. Many of those who live in the Northwest regularly see reports of a NW Medical Team Action in places like Africa, Iraq, Afganistan and other similar places of need.
